Art, History, Music & Writers at the State Library

The State Library of Western Australia is a champion of music, poetry, arts and video exhibitions with a constantly changing line-up of free events and performances. It is wonderful opportunity to be exposed to something new and exciting.



Friday 24th February: Lana live@thelibrary - Lana is a Perth-based electronic musician who specialises in ambient chamber noise.

Tuesday 21st March: three poets give special readings in celebration of UNESCO World Poetry Day.

Spend a sunny Saturday with friends on the Food Day Safari.
Experience the best of Leederville in Perth.
 
Monday 27th March to 28th April: Travelling Sketch Books, a collection of sketch books by talented youth from all over WA.

Friday 31st March: Orphans live@thelibrary, the improvising trio of trumpeter Dan O’Connor, percussionist Ben Stacy and guitarist Dom Barrett.

Friday 21st April: live@thelibrary – Golden String, the emotive violin playing from Hayley-Jane Ayres and piano-playing and vocals of songwriter Mai Barnes.

Monday 22nd May – discover a world beyond books at the behind-the-scenes tours of the library.

Saturday 27th May – Right Wrongs: an exhibition that celebrates and reimagines our understanding of the 1967 Referendum.

Thursday 8th June – Perth author Nicole Sinclair will discuss her newly published book Bloodlines at the BookCaffe.
