The Australian Heritage Festival will be taking place across all states with a number of free events, talks, open days and exhibitions exploring the amazing heritage of our country.
Some of the fascinating free events in Perth include ‘Shop Til You Drop’ a collection of original advertisements and catalogues from Perth shops from the past 100 years (Riverton Library); ‘Women in Times of War’ an exhibition looking at the lives and contributions of women at the South Perth Library; and ‘Uncovering May Gibbs’, a look at the whimsical art and stories of one of Australia’s favourite authors at Nedlands Library.

Using historic photos of Perth and specially commissioned current photographs taken from as near the same angle as possible, this talk illustrates the growth and change to the city over the last 150 years.
