Joondalup Festival

Friday 31st of March to Sunday 2nd of April
The Joondalup Festival celebrates the idea that anybody can perform, create and imagine. As a result, visitors are invited not just as an audience, but as co-creators and performers.

Over two big days, plus a special preview night the Joondalup Festival brings together a number of exciting events and creations that you won’t be able to resist.

Just some of the exciting events you will find at the Festival include:

Experience the best of Leederville in Perth.
Spend a sunny Saturday with friends on the Food Day Safari.

String Symphony Puppeteering a large-scale marionette, groups of strangers will become connected as they work together to give the giant puppet life.

Twilight Lantern Parade Over 1,500 people will come together to parade their creations through the streets of Joondalup, with another 8,000 expected to watch. This year the festival has its head in the clouds, inspired by a magical theme - Perform, Inspire, Imagine – and all schools and community groups in the northern corridor have been invited to participate in the parade.

The Cloud Sculpture A unique interactive sculpture made from more than 6,000 light bulbs is being proudly unveiled for the first time in Australia. Cloud is a barometer of social interaction and collaboration with viewers become performers and as they explore the work, they are also creating a spectacle for other viewers outside the work.

The Kids Canopy Designed just for kids, on Saturday and Sunday there will be ongoing and regular performances of mime, circus, clowning and comedy.
