Legends and Lore: Land and Sea provides a glimpse into Yolngu life, from the small Aboriginal community of Yirrkala lying many thousands of kilometres north east of Perth in Arnhem Land. A community of internationally recognized artists whose Yolngu (language) and culture stems from their deep connection to land and sea, they are proud to present this exhibition featuring intricate ancestral stories of creation painted with ochre and earth pigments using human-hair brush onto cured and prepared bark.
